How RevX works.

Three stages, from the first photo to the last review.

  1. Post it, and get a read.

Five quick steps: vehicle, category, symptoms, a photo, and an optional recording of the noise. Unless you opt out, AI turns your answers into a shortlist of likely causes, then checks each one against your photo and audio. Posting never waits on it.

You get plain English. A matched mechanic gets the technical briefing.

    1. Your answers

      • Check-engine light on
      • Rough idle when cold

    2. Shortlist from the rule engine

      • Vacuum leak

AI-generated from your photos and answers. Not a substitute for a hands-on inspection.
  2. Both sides choose.

You swipe mechanics for your post. Mechanics swipe posts that fit their specialties and service radius. A right swipe from both sides is a match, with an alert on both phones.

Chat in real time, collect quotes from several mechanics, and pick one. You can also find mechanics on the map and message them straight from a pin.

Quotes on Mia's post · example

    1. Gina L. · Triton Auto$210
    2. Diego R. · mobile mechanic$245
    3. Ray M. · Clairemont shop$260

3 mechanics matched. Mia picks Gina's quote; the others stay open until she does.

  3. Get it done, then review blind.

Start the job, and both sides confirm when it's finished. Then each side leaves a five-star review. Neither sees the other's rating until both are in.

    1. Job started
    2. Mia confirmed it's done

Trust and privacy, built into the wiring.

Not promises. Rules the app enforces.

Your exact spot stays private

Precise coordinates never leave the server. Others see a snapped area of about 0.7 miles and a distance rounded to the half mile. Only your matched mechanic gets the job-site point.

Rating stays hidden until the third review is released

Ratings you can believe

Reviews are blind, and nobody shows a public rating off one or two jobs.

Every AI read comes with a confidence level and the app's own disclaimer: not a substitute for a hands-on inspection.

Mechanics: pick the jobs you want.

RevX works both ways. You swipe on open posts that fit your specialties and service radius, and owners swipe on you.

Real intake
Every post comes with structured symptoms and a photo, often with a recording of the noise.
Briefing on match
Once you match, you get a technical briefing on the AI's read. Owners never see it.
Your quote
Quote alongside other mechanics. No lead fees, no pay-to-rank listings.

The first 100 mechanics are free forever.

We're hand-recruiting independent mobile mechanics, students who wrench on the side, and small shops across San Diego.

Questions, answered.

Straight answers about how RevX works for owners and mechanics.

How does the AI mechanic work?
You answer the questions a mechanic would ask, add a photo and, if you like, a recording of the noise. A rule engine turns your answers into a shortlist of likely causes, then the AI checks each one against your photo and audio. You get a plain-English read with ranked causes, severity, urgency, a confidence level and a cost range.
Is the AI diagnosis accurate?
Every read shows its confidence level, and it is not a substitute for a hands-on inspection. Think of it as a head start: it tells you what to ask about, and the mechanic confirms it.
How much does a mobile mechanic cost on RevX?
Mechanics send their own quotes, and you can collect several on one post before picking one. Before you talk to anyone, the AI read gives you an estimated cost range. There are no in-app payments yet; you settle with your mechanic directly.
Do mechanics pay for leads?
No. Mechanics swipe on the jobs they want and quote alongside other mechanics, with no lead fees or pay-to-rank listings. The first 100 mechanics are free forever.
Where does RevX work?
RevX is launching in San Diego, starting around UCSD and the neighborhoods near campus.
Which vehicles and problems does RevX cover?
Cars and motorcycles, across four kinds of problems: mechanical, computer/ECU, modification and cosmetic.
Is my location shared?
Not precisely. Your exact coordinates never leave RevX's servers. Others see a snapped area of about 0.7 miles and a distance rounded to the half mile, and only your matched mechanic gets the job-site location.
